Abstract

This article describes a clinical case of complex treatment of postoperative chylothorax, which led to the attainment of full clinical effect. Neither initial conservative therapy with parenteral nutrition, nor surgery with ligation of the thoracic duct and needling of para-aortic soft tissue did not allow to achieve a complete stop of lymphorrhea separately. The development of the algorithm of postoperative chylothorax treatment could optimize the treatment of various forms of the disease, allowing to reduce the period of patients' stay in a hospital and to avoid the risks of more severe complications, including death. Further study of the problem of chylothorax is relevant in clinical as well as financial and economic aspects.
