Early reconstruction of brachiocephalic arteries in the acute stage of ischemic stroke
DOI:
Abstract
Clinical examples of early endovascular interventions (subclavian artery and internal carotid artery stenting) in patients with acute ischemic stroke are presented in this article. Early reconstruction of the brachiocephalic artery in carefully selected patients with acute ischemic stroke can be safe in respect of secondary surgical prevention of repeated disorder of brain blood circulation. In addition, these procedures can improve the neurologic status, reducing extent of motion and sensitive impairments. However, mechanisms of decrease in neurologic deficiency are not clear and demand further accumulation of clinical material.
