Abstract

Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy with ureterectomy at full duplex kidney is extremely rare. Analyzing publications in the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Medline and Web of Science we have been able to find few reports. On the one hand, this is due to the fact that the number of patients with terminal stage of hydronephrosis with developmental abnormalities (duplex kidney) is extremely low, on the other hand - in such cases the laparoscopic operative access is rarely used. In this article, we describe our own experience of the right kidney upper segment laparoscopic resection with ureterectomy for full duplex kidney with ureterohydronephrosis (upper half) and the right vascular anomaly (multiple renal arteries (4) and veins (3)). Diagnosis was made by sonography and computer tomography of the abdomen and retroperitoneal space. The operative time was 135 min and blood loss was 50 ml. There were no intra- and postoperative complications. The patient was discharged on the 3rd postoperative day.
