Abstract

The review is devoted to issues, related to the features of development and clinical application of biotechnological products the active substance of that are monoclonal antibodies, and medicines on the basis of the modified monoclonal antibodies. The review presents modern views on mechanisms of carcinogenesis, the maintenance of the malignant phenotype of tumor cells, uncontrolled growth of tumors, the adaptive ability of tumors to evade anti-tumor immunity. Given the general principles and possible prospects of development of these medicines with immunotropic focus of action for targeted therapy due to the impact of specific molecules involved in mechanisms of carcinogenesis and growth of tumors. Features of the mechanism of the specific biological effect of monoclonal antibodies, which underlie their therapeutic effect in during clinical use are reflected. General principles and possible prospects for the development of these medicines with an immunotropic orientation of action for targeted therapy due to exposure to specific molecules involved in mechanisms of carcinogenesis and tumor growth are presented.
