ANALYSIS OF FOXP3 ISOFORMS EXPRESSION BY REGULATORY T CELLS FROM PERIPHERAL BLOOD IN MYELODYSPLASTIC SYNDROMES

Abstract

We have analyzed the absolute number of regulatory T cells and the level of FOXP3 isoform expression in peripheral blood of patients with early-stage and late-stage myelodysplastic syndrome. A twofold decrease in the number of regulatory T cells was shown in both groups, mainly due to amount reduction of regulatory T cells expressing FOXP3 molecule lacking exon 2. We discuss the possible association of revealed disorders with reduced suppressor function of regulatory T cells and risk of autoimmune complications in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome.
