Professor Nikiforov is an author of 185 publications and 3 monographs. In 2003 he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation”

Teaching experience – more than 30 years

Professor Nikiforov provides ongoing organizational and methodical and medical advisory work in hospitals, the overall network and abroad. He repeatedly participated in the elimination of outbreaks and epidemics of infectious diseases such as hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, salmonellosis, yersiniosis, pseudotuberculosis, diphtheria, viral gastroenteritis, botulism, etc. in the Russian Federation and abroad, as well as in prevention of recurrence cholera epidemics in Dagestan (1995), outbreaks of typhoid in Chechnya (2000) and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome in Dimitrovgrad in 2009

Since 1989 Professor Nikiforov constantly works on optimization of the results of prevention and treatment of exotic and highly dangerous infections: has experience in treating patients with cholera, plague, anthrax, rabies, melioidosis and etc. He participated in organizing and conducting epidemiological, preventive, curative and sanitary work in elimination of accidents at the facilities of biotechnology, including the prevention of epidemiological complications in adjacent areas.

Since 2014 Professor Nikiforov is an UN expert from the Russian Federation in investigation of use of chemical and biological weapons.

From 2012 to the present time Professor Nikiforov is an editor-in-chief of the Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases journal
