Pirogov Moscow Medical Institute, specialty – pediatrics

Subject of doctoral dissertation – “Endogenous uveitis in young children, Clinical, functional and immunological characteristics, prevention and treatment of complications”

Research interests:

The study of the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of congenital and acquired diseases of the eye in children (retinopathy of prematurity, uveitis, cataracts, glaucoma, the consequences of eye injuries), Organization of eye care for children

The main scientific results:

Development of modern high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases in children

Professor Katargina is an author and co-author of over 250 scientific papers, including 7 monographs, 13 patents for inventions. In 2001 she was appointed as a Chief pediatric ophthalmologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia. Professor Katargina is a member of a number of specialized committees on children’s eye care:
