  The second edition of the manual (its first edition was published in 2001) is expanded and updated. It contains 2 parts and 5 sections. Part 1 presents general information on hemopoiesis, molecular biological changes in tumors cells in general and hemogenic cells in hemoblastoses, and on the mechanisms of action of cytostatic agents. Part 2 comprises two clinical sections that give a classification of hemoblastoses. Their epidemiology, diagnosis, clinical picture, and treatment are detailed, by outlining the present views of their pathogenesis and recent developments in therapy for leukemias and lymphomas. Tne causes and mechanisms of hemoblastosis-associated complications and their treatment are considered.
