   The main purpose of the journal is to outline theoretical, practical and organizational problems of modern neurosurgery. 
   The periodical informs of the latest advances in treatment of neurosurgical diseases of the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous system. Much room is given to new methods of diagnosis and surgical interventions, to information on new surgical instruments and equipment. The journal systematically publishes literature reviews on pressing problems of modern neurosurgery and allied fields. Comprehensive information is given on scientific life: proceedings of conferences, symposia and activity of neurosurgical societies. 
   The journal popularizes neurosurgery as a complex of scientific disciplines. 
   It is intended for neurosurgeons, traumatologists, neuropathologists, ophthalmologists, ENT specialists, roentgenologists, physiologists, and morphologists.
