   The journal develops our country's tradi-tions of medical periodicals addressed to the broad reading public that includes nurses, feldshers, midwives, other middle-level medical personnel, medical school and college teachers, practising physicians. In addition to specific problems in the render-ing of medical aid and its organization, in-cluding those in emergency, its pages out-line the topical problems in clinical medi-cine, social hygiene, public health economy and administration, teaching, postgraduate training, improvement of nursing education, including a higher one. The permanent sec-tion "Lessons of History" publishes origi-nal materials that disclose little known pages in history of medicine. The journal attracts its readers to discuss the matters of charity, ethics, and spirituality, informs about novelties of medical literature, pub-lishes the legislative acts, orders, and in-structions that are most important for its reading public, gives its pages for wide ex-change of professional experience.
