The Russian journal of Anaesthesiology and Reanimatology is a clinical journal. It covers the following main topic areas: anesthesia in surgery, intensive care, and resuscitation (in particular, resuscitation measures that may be necessary in cases other than surgery in injuries, poisoning, and infectious diseases).

The journal promotes the discussion of the advanced anesthesiology and intensive care techniques in obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics (including micropediatrics), dentistry, otorhinolaryngology, outpatient practice, and other fields, as well as new teaching methods in anesthesia, intensive care, and resuscitation medicine. Certain topics in physiology, pharmacology, and hematology that relate to the abovementioned areas are also covered. The journal also provides information on the use of new anesthesia equipment and monitoring tools, near-patient testing techniques, and new anesthesia drugs.
The journal publishes lectures, literature reviews, polemical articles, the minutes of meetings of Moscow societies of anesthesiologists and reanimatologists, accounts of the World Congresses of Anesthesiologists as well as Congresses and Plenary Sessions of the Moscow Scientific Society of Anesthesiologists, information materials, and peer reviews of publications.
Unique and instructive observations from clinical practice and analyses of medical errors and complications complemented by commentaries from leading experts appear in a special section of the journal aimed at practicing anesthesiologists and resuscitators.
